Compiled and drawn by Alfred O. Halsey, this color map illustrates the features indicated in the title as well as many significant buildings, and also lists the names of Charleston mayors, South Carolina governors, natural disasters, yellow fever epidemics, and battles. The early outline of the Charleston peninsula is superimposed over a map drawn by a city engineer in 1946.
