Originally published in the June 1779 issue of the "Universal magazine of knowledge and pleasure", this map by John Hinton depicts precincts, townships, towns, forts, roads and trails, ferries, courthouses, landmarks, rivers and creeks, harbors, islands and shoals along the coast. It also features the Old Boundary Line and Boundary Line in 1772 with North Carolina. Hinton included trails and paths used for trading as well as the general locations of Native American communities.
